Red alert in Kashmir ahead of Republic Day

Kashmir, Jan 24, 2008 : Security forces have strengthened their vigil across the Kashmir Valley occupying all high-rise buildings located near the Bakshi Stadium, the venue of the Republic Day parade to ensure a trouble-free celebration.

Night patrols and search operations have been intensified. The Central reserve Police Force or CRPF has been ordered extra deployment to prevent untoward incidents. People are also being frisked randomly in the markets.
