UP govt directs timely review of development works
Lucknow, Jan 25 (UNI) The UP government today directed the Principal Secretaries and Secretaries to constantly review progress of development works in accordance with the sanctions released project-wise.
''Letters and reminders regarding those schemes, which could not be implemented due to lack of funds, should be sent to the Government of India,'' UP chief secretary P K Mishra said while presiding over a high level meeting held regarding monitoring of aid-grant under 12th finance commission and monthly progress review meeting of financial and physical achievements here.
He said district-wise details of expenses being incurred on drinking water schemes should be submitted, so that progress of works could be reviewed.
''Laxity in development works would not be tolerated,'' Mr Mishra warned adding, money should be released soon for the development works for which finance had been sanctioned.
He said project-wise progress of released amount should be reviewed and additional budget should be demanded after proper utilisation of the released amount.
Mr Mishra further said the Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and head of departments should also review progress of development works being carried out in nine drought affected districts of the state for timely completion of work.
''Adequate fund had been released for schemes being implemented in drouhgt hit districts,'' he informed.
