Relationship with AIADMK satisfactory: Vaiko

Karur, Tamil Nadu, Jan 25 (UNI) Marumalarchi DMK General Secretary Vaiko today said the relationship between his party and its ally, the AIADMK, is satisfactory and is gaining strength by the day.

Addressing a press conference here, he claimed that mid-term polls to both the Lok Sabha and the Tamil Nadu Assembly were inevitable. Lok Sabha elections would be thrust upon the nation this year and chances for the collapse of the DMK Government in the State were bright as there was no coordination between the alliance parties, he added.

Mr Vaiko said the undeclared power cut and severe shortage of fertilisers affected both the industrial and agricultural sectors, but the Government did not find any remedial measure for it.

Instead, the ruling party was organising mega functions by spending huge amounts from the tax payer's money, he ridiculed.

He said the people of the State have started realising that they were being cheated by the DMK Government with doles and were waiting for an opportunity to teach the DMK Government a lesson.

He accused Chief Minister M Karunanidhi of having betrayed the people of Tamil Nadu in the Mullaiperiyar and Palar river issues and by accepting the merger of Pollachi and Kinathukadavu areas of the Southern Railway with the Palghat division in Kerala.
