Prithviraj appointed Collector of the new district of Pratapgarh

Jaipur, Jan 25(UNI) Dr Prithviraj will be the collector of the new district of Pratapgarh which will come into existance on Republic Day.

The state government has issued a notification today appointing Dr Prithviraj and Shivlal Joshi as Collector and district police superintendent respectively of the 33rd revenue district in the state.

Dr Prithviraj has been holding the post of deputy secretary in the Finance department while Shivlal Joshi is a promotee IPS officer.

Principal secretary Revenue Department Lalit Kothari said according to the 2001 census figures the new district will have about seven lakh population of which 60 per cent are the tribals.

Mr Kothari said the state have 26 revenue districts during the formation of the state which has increased to 33 over the years.

The 27th district of Dholpur has come into existence on April 12, 1982 followed by the creation of three districts of Dausa, Bara and Rajsamand in March 31, 1991. The districts of Hanumagarh and Karouli was formed on july 3, 1994 and July 15,1997 respectively.
