Integrated Guided Missile Development Program was on: Official
Bangalore, Jan 25 (UNI) Country's Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP) intended to develop a comprehensive range of missiles including Agni, Prithvi, Trishul and Nag have not been shelved but was on and continuing, a DRDO official clarified today.
Speaking to newsmen here, Dr V K Saraswat (Director and Chief Controller R&D Missiles and Strategic system) Prog Director Air Defense informed the "IGMDP program was on and it was not shelved and being pursued as vigorously as before".
The IGMDP program for the development of a comprehensive range of missiles, including the intermediate range Agni missile (Surface to Surface) and short range missiles such as the Prithvi ballistic missile (Surface to Surface), Akash missile (Surface to Air), Trishul missile (Surface to Air) and Nag Missile (Anti Tank).
Most of these missiles are in various stages of development and deployment for military use, Dr Saraswat added.
