HDPS demands abolition of 'Endowment Act'
Tirupati, Jan 25 (UNI) Hindu Devalayala Parirakshana Samithi (HDPS) founder Kamalkumar Swamiji, demanding the Government to abolish the 'Endowment Act' today said all Hindu temples in the world brought under one umbrella within five years.
Addressing the public meeting in connection with the culmination of 130-day 'maha pada yatra' from Basara to the temple town, covering 3,200 kms, Swamiji, who led the pada yatra, said the yatra was taken up for three causes - to make Hindu samajam, to protest against commercialization of temples and to promote Hindutva.
To make awareness among the people on the temples, which were in a dilapidated condition in North-coastal, he said the second phase of pada yatra would be taken up from Srikakulam in August.
Kakinada Sri Peetam Sri Sri Paripoornananda Saraswathi Swamiji alleged that the Government was utilizing the endowment fund for the development of minority temples, churches and masjids in the name of ''secularism.'' Lauding the social activities initiated by TTD, the Swamiji said that TTD should run free buses from each district in the State to Tirumala for the benefit of backward classes.
