EADS Defence and Security bags TETRA radio network contract

Hyderabad, Jan 25 (UNI) The EADS Defence and Security has been awarded India's first public security TETRA radio network contract by the Andhra Pradesh police.

According to a press release here, the network would cover the region of Cyberabad, the high-tech hub. The final set up would cover an area of 3,600 square km to improve the security of more than eight mn people.

EADS Secure Networks, an integrated line of business of EADS Defence and Security, had teamed up with its local partner Sanchar Telesystems to provide the Cyberabad police a complete end-to-end GPS based digital communication solution.

''After a complete selection process, we opted EADS Secure Networks for our police network because we know they will deliver and we appreciated their superior performances,'' Director of Communications of State police said.
