Duty evasion by MP Minister on land purchase
Jabalpur, Jan 25 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court has fixed January 30 for final hearing on a public interest litigation regarding Revenue Minister Kamal Patel purchasing land worth Rs one crore after becoming minister, but causing revenue loss of several lakhs of rupees to the state government.
The PIL was filed by Anil Bansal of Harda, the minister's home district.
The petitioner alleged that the minister influencing his official position had caused revenue loss to the state government.
Copies of the sale deed were presented as proof of land purchase made in cash.
A division bench of Justice Deepak Mishra and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma during the hearing yesterday was told that the minister had not yet submitted his reply.
