Congress wants high-level probe into Govt land deal

Kozhikode, Jan 25 (UNI) The main opposition Congress in Kerala today demanded a high-level probe into alleged illegal government land transactions by the CPI(M)-Led Left Democratic Government in the State.

Talking to newspersons here, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President Ramesh Chennithala said a comprehensive probe should be ordered in the leasing of 200 acre of government land to corporate houses based in Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore by the administration without any proper agreement.

Accusing State Industries Minister Ilamaram Karim for patronising the deal in connivance with land mafia in the State, he said people wanted to know the comments of Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on the issue The Congress Leader also demanded a white paper on the land transactions by the LDF Government after it assumed office two years ago.
