APHRC issues notices to DGP on naxal leader's arrest

Hyderabad, Jan 25 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Commission (APHRC) Chairman Mr Justice B Subhashan Reddy today issued notices to the State Director General of Police (DGP) SSP Yadav to furnish details of the arrest of CPI (Maoist) State Committee Secretary Sambashivudu before the Commission by tomorrow morning.

Based on a petition filed by the parents of the naxal leader before the APHRC, Mr Justice Reddy gave the directive to the police.

The extremist's parents had complained to the APHRC that the State police had arrested him in Srikakulam, but had neither produced him before any court, nor showed the arrest officially.
