3 Naxals held, Rs 6 lakh extortion money recovered
Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 25 (UNI) The district police today arrested three Naxals, who indulged in extortion and seized Rs six lakh and weapons from them.
The police said on a tip-off, the special teams arrested Pratighatana District Committee Member A Devendar Redy alias Madhu and seized Rs six lakh in extortion money, a revolver, toy pistol and five rounds of live ammunition from his bag near Kakatiya University Crossroads.
The arrested Naxal confessed to receiving money from Devadula Irrigation Project Engineer S Janardhan.
In another incident, two Naxals of Prajapratighatana, a banned extremist organisation, were arrested near Bhimavaram Village while proceeding towards a neighbouring village to receive extortion money from a contractor.
