Vehicle makers to post lower profits

New Delhi, 24 Jan, 2008: Apart from India's No 1 car maker, Maruti Suzuki, and top motorbike maker Hero Honda Motors both of whom have reported gains in quarterly net profits, most other vehicle makers are likely to take a hit from price discounts.

However analysts say steadier costs for raw materials, hopes of lower interest rates and new launches could help boost demand.
