TDSAT puts off GSM plea on dual technology
New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) The telecom tribunal TDSAT today postponed the hearing of GSM operators' plea against the dual technology, saying parallel proceedings cannot be done in two courts at the same time.
The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) operator lobby, has already filed a petition against the use of dual technology by the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) operators in the Delhi High Court.
''In view of the matter already going on before the Delhi High Court and to avoid parallel hearing on the same issue, I consider (it fit) to defer the hearing,'' TDSAT Chairman Justice Arun Kumar said here.
According to sources, the next hearing of the Telecom Disputes Settlement And Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) is expected to be held on February 14.
