Gang of car lifters and sellers bust in Barnala
Barnala, Jan 24 (UNI) Police here has bust a gang of vehicle thieves and arrested three persons after recovering three stolen cars from them.
SSP Barnala, Paramjit Singh Grewal today told reporters that the accused, identified as Jagjit Singh Barn, Jaspal Singh and Pawan Kumar were nabbed by the CIA staff after a tip-off.
During interrogation they revealed that they used to steal vehicles or buy stolen vehicles and then sell them off after making fake documents and new numebr plates. They used to even irase the original chasis number and punched a new one, the SSP said.
On interrogation, they also disclosed that they had three more accomplices -- Raj Kumar, Jaspreet Singh and Prem Kumar from various parts of the state.
They have been booked under sections 379, 411, 420, 466, 467, 468, 471, 472, 473, 474, 475 and 120-B, Mr Grewal said, adding that police expected to recover more vehicles from the gang and was trying to nab the rest of the gang members at the earliest.
