Full dress Republic Day rehearsal in Srinagar
Srinagar, Jan 24 (UNI) A full dress rehearsal was today held at Bakshi stadium under unprecedented security arrangements.
All main roads around the stadium were closed to traffic.
However, vehicles of security forces, police and senior civil officials were being allowed to enter the sealed area after proper checking and verification.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mehboob Iqbal unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the march-past presented by contingents of Jammu and Kashmir police, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police, Central Reserve Police Force, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and school children.
A rehearsal of cultural programmes was also held.
Similar rehearsals were also held at district headquarters of Baramulla, Anantnag, Kupwara, Budgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Kulgam where Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts hoisted the national flag and took salute.
