India's GDP growth to slow to 8 pc in 2008

New Delhi, 23 Jan, 2008 : According to a research report by Calyon, India's gross domestic product or GDP growth may slow to 8 per cent in 2008 from 8.5 per cent in 2007 as the impact of the central bank's tightening begins to show.

According to analysts the economy may continue to feel the impact of past tightening measures. The softening of global demand should slow exports of goods and services to some extent in the coming months.
