TN urges Centre to find amicable solution to Lankan Tamils issue
Chennai, Jan 23 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government urged the Centre to find an amicable solution to the ethnic Sri Lankan Tamils issue, Governor S S Barnala told the State Assembly today.
Delivering his customary address to the House, he said considering the continuing misery of Sri Lankan Tamils, the state urges the Centre that an amicable solution should be found at the earliest to this long standing problem.
Observing that fishermen welfare has always been accorded high priority, he said the state government would continue to take all steps to remove the difficulties faced by the state's fishermen while fishing in the sea.
