Israel agro dairy technology can boost production: Simhon
Mumbai, Jan 23 (UNI) Israel Agriculture Minister Shalom Simhon today said the technology of agriculture and dairy from his country will be able help in increasing the production in India.
Talking to reporters during the seminar on Israel Agriculture organised by Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Mr Simhon said the milk production in India can be further increased if the genetics of Israeli cows are used in Indian cows.
He said the water recycling project is under way in Jaipur with the help of Rajasthan government, adding that water is sufficient in India but there is a need for its methodical use for increased agricultural production.
Mr Simhon said stress should be given on the growth of small land holders for the development of agriculture.
Several places are under consideration for the olive production in Maharashtra, where farming could be done in Israeli style.
Mr Simhon is leading a business delegation to India and held a series of meetings on this issue with Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and others in New Delhi and here.
