HC stays beacon facility for SGPC vehicles
Chandigarh, Jan 23 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today stayed the operation of Punjab Government notification of November 22, last year vide which it had allowed SGPC members to have red light beacons atop their vehicles.
The order was issued by the Division Bench of Chief Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Kanwaljit Singh Ahluwalia, on a PIL fied by a social activist Veneet Mahajan from Amritsar seeking directions to stay the order on red light atop SGPC members vehicles and also on providing two security guards to each them.
The bench has issued notice to Punjab Chief Secretary and SGPC for February 4 in the case.
