HC orders 'no punitive action' orders against UPCC president

Allahabad, Jan 23 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today ordered the state government that police should not take any punitive action against Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Rita Bahuguna Joshi in the land transfer case.

The order was passed by a bench, comprising Justices Vinod Prasad and A K Singh, while hearing a petition filed by Ms Joshi.

The next hearing of the case is tommorow.

According to an FIR filed at the Civil Lines police station here, Ms Joshi had illegaly transferred the 'Nazul land' at Fatehpur Bichua, while being at the post of Mayor in 1997.
