Female naxals remanded to custody in Chhattisgarh
Raipur, Jan 23 (UNI) A local court today remanded three people, including two alleged female naxals, to police custody in connection with seizing of a weapons' cache here on Monday.
''Meena Choudhary and K S Priya alias Malti were remanded for six days each and former journalist Praful Jha for two days,'' Inspector-General of Police Y K S Thakur told UNI.
The trio were booked under the Indian Penal Code's Section 121 for ''attempting to wage war'' against the country, Section 120 that pertains to criminal conspiracy and Section 25 of the Arms Act.
However, the more stringent Chhattisgarh Special Public Security Act, 2005 has not been invoked. The accused were arrested following seizure of countrymade pistols, wireless sets and other material from a bustling locality.
