Election campaign losing sanctity: Dhumal
Shimla, Jan 23 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today said election campaigns were steadily losing its sanctity.
In an exclusive interview to the RSS's Organiser, he said the process started in 2003 assembly elections when the Congress led a vilification campaign against him by levelling unsubstantiated corruption charges and later made these charges as election issue.
Mr Dhumal said he favoured the setting up a system in which dignity of individuals and political party was maintained during the election campaign, but that all would depend on other political parties also.
The Congress made desperate attempts by levelling baseless allegations regarding recruitment process against him during the elections, but he secured a clean chit.
