Couple arrested for attempting to con advocate

Hyderabad, Jan 23 (UNI) The city police today arrested a couple for allegedly attempting to cheat an advocate to the tune of Rs 10,000.

According to a police release here, Kachiguda police caught red handed one Bala Tripura Sunder Rao and his wife Malavika while trying to cheat Advocate K Sarva Bhouma Rao.

Police said Sunder Rao had made a phone call to the advocate, claiming himself to be Advocate M Subba Rao and asking him to pay Rs 10,000 to one Anitha who would come to his office.

On suspicion, Mr Rao immediately called Mr Subba Rao and made sure that the latter did not make any such call.

Based on a complaint from Mr Rao, police trapped Malavika when she came to the advocate's office to collect the money and her husband, police said.
