Coast Guard Helicopter crashes in Andaman Sea

Port Blair, Jan 23 (UNI) A Coast Guard Chetak Helicopter from an Indian Coast Guard Ship, ditched into the Andaman Sea on Monday evening during surveillance mission off the little Andaman Islands.

''All the crew members were later rescued safely,'' Commandant Akshay Jain, Public Relations Officer of Coast Guard in Andaman, told UNI yesterday.

An investigation was being ordered, he added, but refused to give any more information.

Ditching of helicopters means crashing with a certain degree of control, the official said.
