Clash between Cong, TRS functionaries

Sanga Reddy, Andhra pradesh, Jan 23 (UNI) Tension prevailed, when a group of Congress functionaries clashed with TRS workers at a function where State Co-operative Societies Minister M D Faridduddin was distributing title deeds to the beneficiaries under the fourth phase of land distribution programme, at Siddipet in Medak district near here today.

Both the party workers threw chairs at each other and created flutter at the function. The TRS workers also tried to attack the Minister. Police resorted to lathicharge.

Meanwhile, in protest against the TRS attack, the District Congress Committtee called for bandh in the district.

The TRS President and former Union Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao termed the incident as ''unfortunate'' and called the TRS workers to organise agitations in a peaceful manner.
