BSF Asst Commandant commits suicide

Amritsar, Jan 23 (UNI) An Assistant Commandant of the Border Security Force (BSF) today allegedly committed suicide in the Khem Karan sector of Punjab.

According to police officials, the deceased identified as Harbhajan Singh (53) shot himself with a carbine while he was inspecting the Khem Karan sector. The jawans accompanying the BSF officer immediately rushed him to hospital but he died on the way.

The deceased was a bachelor and his relatives were immediately informed of the tragedy. The police are investigating the matter and have contacted senior BSF officers for assistance in the investigations.
