BJP leaders pay tribute to Netaji on his 112th birth anniversary

Jamshedpur, Jan 23 (UNI) Senior BJP leaders, including party national vice-president Yashwant Sinha, today paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 111th rpt 111th birth anniversary.

The former Union Minister, along with BJP MLA from Jamshedpur West Saryu Rai, offered floral tributes to the statue of the great freedom fighter at Aambagan Maidan here.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sinha called upon the youth to emulate the patriotic spirit of the great leader.

''Netaji not only wanted to free our country from the British rule but he had cherished the dream of a prosperous and developed India. However, his dream is yet to be fulfilled and the youth should come forward to take the responsibility,'' Mr Sinha said.

Besides, BJP MLA from Jamshedpur East and former Jharkhand Minister Raghubar Das paid homage to Netaji by garlanding his statue at Surya Dham in the Baridih area here.

Mr Das also inaugurated a park on the occasion and said the area would be developed as a tourist spot.

Netaji's 112th birth anniversary was also celebrated at several other places, including many educational institutions in the steel city, by organising various functions and cultural programmes and singing patriotric songs.

The Tata Workers Union (TWU) also remembered Netaji, who was the TWU president in 1937, and fought for the cause of the labour class in the steel city. TWU president Raghunath Pandey garlanded the statue of Netaji at the union office.
