Srinagar normal after 3 days of clashes
Srinagar, Jan 22 (UNI) Life returned to normal in the downtown where clashes between two sects of Muslims and police for three days left more than 60 people wounded.
Shops and business establishments were open and traffic was plying normally in Hawal, Gojwara and Nowhatta, the most affected areas.
The trouble started on January 19 when two groups of people clashed at Hawal duringa Muharram procession. Window panes of several houses and vehicles were damaged in the clash.
Clashes between violent mob and police continued on Sunday and Monday, leaving more than 60 people, including police personnel injured.
Almost all separatists and other religious organisation appealed to people from both the sides to maintain peace.
