First anniversary of Samudra Arati performed

Puri, Jan 22 (UNI) The first anniversary of the ''Samudra Araati'' was performed in a grand way by Puri Sankaracharaya Swamy Nischalananda Saraswati of Gobardhan Peeth today.

Many saints and mahantas including Laxmananada Saraswati and Swamy Pragyananda of Kriya yoga ashram besides Puri king Gajapati Divyasingh Dev were present.

Sankaracharya said the Arati was being performed in Rameswar, Gangasagar, Kanyakumari and at other sea beach areas of the country to invoke cosmic and spiritual powers to attain world peace.

He flayed the administration for its failure to protect the sanctity of Mahodadhi tirth from encroachment and pollution.
