Cold wave intensifies in Delhi, mercury drops to 2.6 deg C
New Delhi, Jan 22 (UNI) The cold wave sweeping Delhi over the last few days intensified today with the mercury dropping to 2.6 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal.
With the cold Northwesterly winds continuing to blow through the air in the capital, the minimum temperature, continuing its downwards movement since Sunday, fell to 2.6 degrees C.
Visibility levels, however, remained normal.
The cold wave conditions in Delhi could persist in the next couple of days with the weatherman forecasting a minimum temperature of 3 degrees C tomorrow.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in national capital during the next 24 hours.
After an unusually warm weather last week, the mercury plummeted to 6.4 degrees C on Sunday, from 14 degrees C the previous day.
