Anbumani to inaugurate new buildings at Jipmer hospital

Puducherry, Jan 22 (UNI) Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Anbumani Ramadoss would inaugurate the newly constructed buildings at Jipmer Hospital here tomorrow, according to Jipmer Director K S V K Subba Rao.

Talking to newspersons here today, he said Dr Anbumani would inaugurate the buildings of the Regional Cancer Centre(Oncology Block), College of Nursing and Nursing Students' Hostel and Jipmer patient's shelter, besides commissioning a digital X-ray machine and advanced Colour Doppler Ultrasound machine.

Dr Rao said the budget allocation of Jipmer for 2007-08 was Rs 164 crore. The foundation stone for superspeciality block, traumacare, RCC, Nursing College and Hostel at a project cost of Rs.169.6 crore was laid in February 2006, of which, buildings for Rs 31 crore would be inaugurated tomorrow, he added.

He said in June, the superspeciality block and traumacare were expected to be completed. The nursing college at Jipmer was the only one coming under the ministry of health and family welfare in South, he added.
