5 held for village panchayat deputy chief's murder
Tiruchirapalli, Jan 22 (UNI) Police today arrested five people and are looking for two more in connection with the murder of a vice- president of a village panchayat at Tiruppur in Coimbatore District yesterday.
Police said Dasthagar of Nachikurichi Panchayat in this district was fatally attacked by a gang due to enmity.
The deceased, allegedly involved in a murder case, stayed at Tiruppur after being released on conditional bail.
The victim was on his way to a lower court by a two-wheeler when the gang intercepted and attacked him fatally.
