Hyderabad, Jan 21 (UNI) Satyam Computer Services Ltd Founder Chairman B Ramalinga Raju today said the Indian IT industry would experience negative and positive effects due to slowdown in the US economy.
Speaking to newspersons here on the sidelines of announcing the company's Q3 results here, Mr Raju said the positive effect of the slowdown of US economy on Indian IT industry was operational customer response, enhanced revenues and efficiency.
With 60 per cent of business for the IT industry coming from the US, the negative effects would be the slowdown in decision-making and reduction in discretionary expenditure.
''In any case, to match the situation closely, there is a need to enhance guidance.
''We are increasing the number of large deals and it requires exploring business opportunities in the US, Europe, Asian and African countries. We were looking to add new expertise in future,'' he added.
