R V Thomas memorial award to Marthoma Valiya Metropolitan

Kottayam, Jan 21 (UNI) Marthoma Valiya Metropolitan Philipose Mar Chrisostom has been selected for the R V Thomas Memorial award for the best social activist.

The Valiya Metropolitan had been selected for the award, instituted by R V Thomas Foundation, taking into account his contributions to the society through effective social interference in addition to his high spiritual activities, R V Thomas Foundation Convenor Sabu D Mathew said.

Noted writer Dr Sukumar Azhikode would present the award tomorrow at a function to be held at Pala, on the occasion of the 53rd death anniversary of noted freedom fighter and social activist R V Thomas.
