Labourer killed at Delhi Metro construction site
New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) A labourer was killed when the side of a hole being dug to house an underground water tank collapsed today near a Delhi Metro construction site at Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi.
The incident took place at around 1300 hrs, burying the labourer under the earth.
He was taken out after rescue operations and rushed to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital near Mayur Vihar where the doctors declared him brought dead.
The labourer was identified as 40-year-old Vijay Mandal, an employee of a sub-contractor of Afcons.
Senior officials of the Delhi Metro were present at the site and investigations have been launched into the incident.
