Irrigation schemes to be priority in HP: Ravinder
Mandi, Jan 21 (UNI) Observing that irrigation schemes will be the state government's priority, Himachal Pradesh Irrigation and Public Health Minister Ravinder Ravi today said this was essential to increase the agricultural produce.
Talking to newspersons here, he said potable water had already been provided in most of the villages and now the government would try to improve the distribution network.
Mr Ravi said the department officials had been directed to complete all the on-going schemes on a war footing and in a time-bound manner.
Referring to a large number of unemployed educated youth in the state, he said the government would generate employment in public, semi public and corporate sectors, besides promoting self employment vocations.
He said the appointments in government services were now made only batchwise and transparency was being maintained.
