Final argument for defence begins in Sarkar murder case

Patna, Jan 21 (UNI) The final argument in CPM MLA Ajeet Sarkar murder case began before a local sessions court here today.

Earlier, the CBI had concluded its final argument in the court of additional district and sessions judge of Patna B M Srivastav.

The argument today started on behalf of Rajan Tiwary, former MLA and an accused in the case. The argument would continue tomorrow also.

CPM MLA Ajeet Sarkar was shot dead at Purnia on June 14, 1998.

Incarcerated RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav and Former MLA Rajan Tiwary were among the several chargesheeted accused in the case.

Patna High court had directed the trial court to conclude the trial within a month.
