Eight smuggler arrested, illict timber seized in Kashmir
Srinagar Jan 21 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police arrested eight smugglers and seized large quantity of illicit timber in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said.
They said police on specific information set up a naka at Kunzer in Baramulla district. During the naka they noticed a group of people with a horse coming towards the main town. When challenged, the smugglers tried to escape but were overpowered by police.
A large quantity of illicit timber and a horse has been seized, they added.
Sources said during another checking Charar-e-Sharief police seized illicit timber from a vehicle.
