BSE clarification on Trading Halts
Mumbai, Jan 21 (UNI) There were trading system halts on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) for a short duration today due to a 'malfunctioning', it was clarified on behalf of the premier stock exchange tonight.
The halts were at 14:49:44 hours and 14:52:41 hours.
As per guidelines, the market halt at 10 per cent Sensex movement of its closing figure as on December 31' 2007, was applicable before 14:30 hrs and post 14:30 hrs market halt was at 15 per cent.
The switch over programme at 14:30 hrs to the new market wide circuit filter level at 15 per cent malfunctioned, leading to a temporary trading halt.
On immediate rectification of the programme, the trading system resumed at 14:54:33 hrs, a release issued by BSE said.
