Union Minister R Velu flags off new local train

Bardhaman, Jan 20 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu today flagged off a new local train between Seharabazar station and Patrasayar via Sonamukhi to Bankura station.

Official sources said the estimated cost for the 96 km route was Rs 240 crore.

Speaking to newspersons after the inauguration, Mr Velu informed that the new train was introduced for the speedy development of the remote and far-flung areas in the state.

He added that several additional facilities and amenities would be introduced for the convenience of the passengers and adequate measures would be implemented in the trains and railway stations for the security of the people.
