Temperatures rise steeply in the city

Kolkata, Jan 20 (UNI) The temperature in the city rose steeply with the maximum being recorded at 30.8 degrees Celsius today, which was four degrees above normal.

Alipore Met officials here said that the minimum temperature was also comparatively high at 20.7 degrees Celsius, seven degrees above normal. The maximum relative humidity was recorded at 96 per cent.

The weatherman predicted that the mornings will be foggy, but the sky will remain mainly clear in the next 24 hours.

The minimum temperature is expected to be around 21 degrees Celsius, sources added.
