Separatists appeal for peace in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jan 20 (UNI) Expressing concern over the clashes between Shia and Suni sects in the down town city, separatist parties in the Kashmir valley today made an appeal to people to maintain peace.
A spokesman of the Hurriyat Conference (Mirwaiz) said it was a deep-rooted conspiracy to divide Muslims.
He appealed to the people to maintain peace and unmask those who were behind these clashes.
The spokesman said a number of senior Hurriyat leaders today visited a number of affected localities and met people there.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik also made an appeal to the people to expose the anti-social elements behind these clashes.
Similar appeals were also made by various political, religious and other organisations.
