NCM report on Kandhamal violence biased- Bajrang Dal
Bhubaneswar, Jan 20 (UNI) Bajarang Dal national convenor Subash Chouhan today dubbed the National Commission on Minority's report on Kandhamal communal clash as 'completely one sided''.
Mr Chouhan told newspersons here that the Hindus in Orissa were shocked about the findings of the NCM on the Kandhamal violence which did not reflect the real situation prevailing in the area.
He said it was most unfortunate that the two-member NCM, which visited Kandhamal had submitted the report without visiting the affected areas.
The NCM, he said, had completely closed its eyes on the organised attack on the Hindus and their houses by the Christians in Brahmanigaon village.
''It was a deep rooted conspiracy in Kandhamal orchestrated by the Missionaries and some NGOs funded by foreign agencies to carry out illegal conversion while projecting a different picture on the communal clashes,'' Mr Chouhan said.
He demanded that the state government must amend the Orissa Freedom of Religion Act (OFRA) with the imposition of Rs ten lakh fine and ten years imprisonment for those violating the act.
