Lemon festival concludes in Manipur

Imphal, Jan 20 (UNI) The winners of the fourth district-level Kachai Lemon Festival, 2008, held at Ukhrul district, which concluded on January 18, were announced.

More than 200 stalls were displayed their products at the Lemon Festival held under the aegis of the Kachai Fruit Farming and Processing Co-operative Society Limited, Ukhrul district.

H Luinailah won the first prize which had a cash prize of Rs 5,000, Z Ningtamla won the second prize with a cash award of Rs 3,000 and the third prize, consisting a cash prize of Rs 2,000, was conferred on R K Lak-ngamphi.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dr Khasim Ruivah appealed to the villagers to continue producing good quality lemons and appealed to the state government to ensure that the products had a ready market and improve the condition of the roads in the area.
