AP beat Haryana for Boys U-19 Badminton Trophy

Panchkula, Jan 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh prevailed over Haryana by 2-1 in the final to win the boys Under-19 badminton team title in the 53rd National School Games at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex here on Sunday.

The girls under-19 team trophy went to Gujarat who beat Kerala by 2-1 while Punjab had won the boys U-14 team title after a gap of 15 years as they had beaten Maharashtra by 2-0.

Leela Luxmi of Andhra Pardesh (girls U-14), Tulsi of Kerala (girls U-19) and Ravi of Haryana (boys U-19) bagged the individual titles in their respective age categories.

Positions: Team championships: Boys u-14: 1 Punjab, 2 Maharashtra, 3 Karnataka, 4 Madhya Pradesh.

Boys under-19: 1 Andhra Pradesh, 2 Haryana, 3 Maharastra, 4 Punjab.

Girls Under-14: 1 Andhra Pradesh, 2 Maharashta, 3 Karnataka, 4 Punjab.

Girls U-19: 1 Gujarat, 2 Kerala, 3 Karnataka, 4 Haryana.

Singles: Under-14 girls: 1 Leela Luxmi (Andhra Pardesh), 2 D Shudha (Andhra Pradesh), 3 Riya Pillai (Maharastra),4 Aishani Seth (Gujarat).

Under-14 Boys: Rajas (Karnataka), 2 S K Khaja (Andhra Pradesh),3 Kawaldeep ( Punjab), 4 Rupinder Singh (Punjab).

Under-19 girls: 1 Tulsi (Kerala), 2 Vaishali Bharia (Gujarat), 3 Ankita Ashok (Karnataka), 4 Pallavi Aggarwal (Haryana).

Under-19 boys: 1 Ravi (Haryana), 2 Kunal Bharia (Maharashtra)3 M R Mani (Tamil Nadu) and 4 K Nand Gopal (Andhra Pradesh).
