Abyudaya Co-operative announces brand-ambassador

Mumbai, Jan 20 (UNI) Multi-state Urban Co-oprative lender, Abyudaya Co-operative Bank today announced small-screen actor and anchor Adesh Bandekar as its brand-ambassador.

Marathi serial, 'Home Minister'-fame, Adesh will work as our brand ambassador for our brand building campaign, Bank Chairman Sandeep Dhandat said today.

He also announced the bank's expansion plans and said that it would acquire those co-opetative banks in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnatka, which are not performing well.

''We have recieved RBI's approval to acquire 10 branches of the Janta-Co-operative bank in Karnataka and two other in Gujarat,'' Mr Dhandat said.

The bank has already aquired one branch of Baroda-based Srikrishna Co-operative bank and aquisition of one Ahemdabad-based Manikchand Co-operative bank will be completed in next two-three months, he added.

At present, Abyudaya Co-operative bank is operating through its 54 branches network in three states and wants to enhance its presence by further acquisitions.

The bank targets to maintain a growth pattern of 20-22 per cent year-on year basis in the current and in the next fiscal, Mr Dhandat asserted.

Meanwhile, a new brance at Kharghar was innuagurated today by Maharashtra Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sunil Takare in Navi Mumbai. The function was attended by SIDCO Cairman Nakul Patil and SIDCO Managing Director V S Gill.

Talking to reporters, Mr Takare lauded the role of small segment banks and said that urban co-operative banks have a history of lending a helping-hand to the people in coutry and the process should continue.
