Senior Nicholas Piramal official abducted

Indore, Jan 19 (UNI) A senior official of the Nicholas Piramal posted at the Pithampur unit of the company is missing, police said today.

Mr Ashwini Bhatt, who was put up at Indore, had gone to Gwalior for company-related work on January 17. He was scheduled to return today.

His wife Basanti Bhatt has lodged a missing complaint when he did not return as per his schedule.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Gwalior) Adarsh Katiyar said the car had been recovered from Dhaulpur in Rajasthan. Both driver and the official were missing.

Police officials in Indore and Gwalior were in constant touch. It was being suspected that the official has been abducted. The hand of a big interstate gang was suspected to be involved. However, no ransom demand has been made so far.

According to a UNI report from Gwalior, police said Mr Bhatt had come to the citadel town to take part in 'MP Expotek' on January 17.

He left for Indore with the driver on January 18.
