Congress and Muslim Forum want Dilawar sacked
Jaipur, Jan 19 (UNI) Congress and Rajasthan Muslim Forum demanded the sacking of Rajashtan minister Madan Dilawar for his ''derogatory'' remarks against Bharat Ratna Mother Teresa and Madarsas.
Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Madan Dilawar at a press conference at Bali a few days ago had reportedly said, ''She (Mother Teresa) has institutionalised conversion in the guise of social service'' and the ''Madarsas in the border areas are breeding grounds for terrorists sponsored by Pakistan''.
''The minister's remarks were blatantly communal and inflammatory, hurting the sentiments of the Muslims and Christians alike,'' Congress leader Raghu Sharma said and demanded that the minister be removed for his ''irresponsible'' comment.
Rajasthan Muslim Forum, the apex body of the Muslims in the state demanded an apology from the minister for his derogatory remarks against Mother Teresa and Madarsas.
''Mr Dilwar has brought disgrace to the post he is holding and should be sacked'', said Mr Sharma in a statement here.
''Mother Teresa is the recipient of the country's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna for her selfless service to the poor and destitutes. It is unbecoming of a person holding a constituional post to talk in a derisive manner about Mother Teresa,'' said Mr Sharma and asked for the minister's removal.
