Wipro's net profit up by 8.80 pc to Rs 804.1 cr

New Delhi, Jan 18: Country's third largest software company, Wipro Ltd, today said its net profit increased nine per cent to Rs 804.1 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 739 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Its total income has increased 21.32 per cent to Rs 4,429.6 crore for the third quarter this year, from Rs 3,651.1 crore for the same period last year. On the consolidated front, the group has posted a net profit of Rs 854 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 765.4 crore in the same quarter last year. Group total income has increased to Rs 5,433.2 crore for the third quarter ended this year from Rs 4,055.2 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006.
