Two gangsters killed in an encounter in Thane Dist

Mumbai, Jan 18 (UNI) Two notorious gangsters belonging to Bunty Pande gang were killed in an encounter with police at Kalyan in neighbouring Thane district today.

Senior Police Inspector Vijay Salaskar, attached to Anti-Extortion Cell of Mumbai Police, said here they had received an information that two close associates of Bunty Pande gang would be coming to meet their associates near Pawan Dham society in Kalyan. The AEC sleuths laid a trap at the spot at around 1250 hours.

When the duo arrived, the police identified and asked them to surrender, instead they opened fire on the police team, he said, In a retaliatory gunfire, the gangsters suffered chest and head injuries. They were rushed to civil hospital at Kalyan, where they were declared brought dead. Their names here not been disclosed so far.

The duo were wanted in several cases like murder, attempt to murder and extortion, he added.
